Monitoring file storage

You can monitor the file storage cluster and its services on the Storage services > File storage > Overview screen with the following charts:

  • Availability. The chart shows availability of the following services: Samba, metadata server (MDS), data server (DS), and lock server (LS). Time periods when the services are unavailable are highlighted in red. In this case, check logs of the relevant service in /var/log/vstorage/mpfs/, and report a problem.
  • Read and Write. The charts show the overall file storage load by read and write requests.
  • Read latency, Write latency and Sync latency. These charts show the average latency of read, write, and sync operations across all SMB shares.
