Updating the license
You can either prolong your license expiration date or upgrade it to add more licensed resources to the cluster. A lease or annual license is automatically prolonged if it is active in the Key Authentication (KA) licensing server and the cluster can reach the KA server. For annual licenses, automatic renewal starts approximately 10 days before the expiration date. If the KA server is temporarily unreachable, the system retries renewal periodically. You can also renew the license manually in the command-line interface. To increase the license limit, obtain a new license key and register it.
Prerequisites
- The license is installed, as described in Installing the license.
- The cluster has access to the KA server. You can verify connectivity as described in Checking KA server connectivity.
To manually prolong the current license
Use the following command:
vinfra cluster license update [--server <ka-server>]
--server <ka-server>- Explicitly specify what Key Authentication (KA) licensing server to use in the format
<hostname>[:<port>].
For example, to update the current license via the default KA server, run:
# vinfra cluster license update
To upgrade to a new license
Admin panel
Command-line interface
Use the following command:
vinfra cluster license load <license-key>
<license-key>- A new license key
For example, to register the license key B64A8W-JAF5DD-YZVONE-5KN41K-L1B9VD, run:
# vinfra cluster license load B64A8W-JAF5DD-YZVONE-5KN41K-L1B9VD
