PrlVmDevNet_GenerateMacAddr Function

Generates a unique MAC address for a virtual network adapter on a virtual machine.

Parameters

hVmDev

A handle of type PHT_VIRTUAL_DEV_NET_ADAPTER identifying the network adapter.

Returns

PRL_RESULT. Possible values:

PRL_ERR_INVALID_ARG - invalid handle or null pointer was passed.

PRL_ERR_SUCCESS - function completed successfully.

Remarks

The function will generate a new MAC address and will automatically assign it to the adapter. The function does not return the address to the caller. To retrieve the address, use the PrlVmDevNet_GetMacAddress function.
