Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure 7.1 (7.1.0-179)¶
Issue date: 2025-09-25
Applies to: Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure 7.1
Virtuozzo Advisory ID: VZA-2025-015
1. Overview¶
In this release, Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure provides a range of new features that cover the compute service, file and object storage, as well as updates. Additionally, this release delivers stability improvements and addresses issues found in previous releases.
2. New Features¶
[Compute service] Resource policies. Introduced two policies with automatic VM live migration to balance workloads and prevent resource contention across compute nodes:
Dynamic consolidation places tagged VMs onto the minimum number of nodes.
Dynamic distribution spreads VMs evenly across nodes to balance compute capacity.
[Compute service] New guest OS support. Added support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 as guest operating systems. For these OSes, UEFI, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0 are mandatory and enabled by default.
[File storage] SMB 3.0 storage. New SMB 3.0 file storage enables high-performance file access from Windows and compatible clients.
[Object storage] S3 observability improvements. Expanded the scope of collected data, refined existing metrics with additional labels, and increased bucket granularity for more precise monitoring and alerting in Grafana.
[Updates] Cumulative update path. Clusters running version 6.2.1 or later can now upgrade directly to the latest available version in a single step. Clusters on earlier versions must first upgrade to 6.2.1 to enable cumulative updates.
3. Important Notes¶
Alerts related to vCPU and RAM shortages on compute nodes are now marked with the lowest severity (‘Info’). With the introduction of resource policies, these alerts have reduced importance for capacity management. We recommend enabling resource policies instead of relying on these alerts and updating your operational processes accordingly.
