Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure 5.4 Update 4 (5.4.4-112)¶
Issue date: 2023-09-14
Applies to: Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure 5.4
Virtuozzo Advisory ID: VZA-2023-026
1. Overview¶
This update delivers a new feature for the compute service, performance optimization for the object storage, as well as stability, security, and performance improvements.
2. New Features¶
[Compute service] Support for application credentials in the compute API. With application credentials (which are a secret key), external applications can access the OpenStack API without using password-based authentication.
3. Important Notes¶
Starting from the next major release, Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure will run on Linux kernel 5.x. To be able to update your cluster without service downtime, your hardware must be supported. Before the update, manually run the hardware compatibility check command-line tool, to ensure that your nodes have no unsupported hardware adapters.
Starting from this release, external enterprise-grade NAS appliances can be attached to virtual machines as NFS shares and used in production environments.
4. Bug Fixes¶
VMs with Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022, and Windows 10 fail to boot after installation of the security update KB5030214. (VSTOR-74916)
High memory consumption by the monitoring service. (VSTOR-74655)
During an update, a node may get stuck in the rebooting state. (VSTOR-74331)
A virtual machine with an external PureStorage volume may experience issues after evacuation. (VSTOR-74223)
The Nova API may stop working if all nodes in the HA configuration were replaced after a compute update failure. (VSTOR-73935)
A VM creation fails if a project has no quota assigned to a single placement. (VSTOR-73880)
Impossible to release an iSCSI target in the admin panel. (VSTOR-73687)
Fixed a critical security vulnerability in a system package. (VSTOR-73243)
Removed unnecessary alerts for VMs in the ERROR state. (VSTOR-72955)
After a reboot, a node may drop all traffic due to Open vSwitch issues. (VSTOR-71760)
Incomplete migration may fail with the error ‘Unable to update attachment. (Invalid volume: duplicate connectors detected on volume …)’ (VSTOR-71375)
Infrastructure networks are not displayed when trying to create a physical compute network in a cluster with more than 100 nodes. (VSTOR-70804)
After a node deployment, the following false-positive alert appears in the node details: ‘Some disks stop responding and degrade the cluster performance. The disks are isolated from the cluster I/O. To troubleshoot the problem, check the disk connectivity, S.M.A.R.T. status, and dmesg output on the node.’ (VSTOR-70760)
After three consequent crashes, the shaman service moves to the suspended state and needs to be resumed manually once the problem is resolved. (VSTOR-70746)
Fixed domain filtering in the admin panel. (VSTOR-70590)
Monitoring data may be missing on dashboards in the admin panel. (VSTOR-69370)
Important stability and performance improvements for the core storage and compute services. (VSTOR-73217, VSTOR-70706, VSTOR-70592, VSTOR-69798)
