Virtuozzo Hybrid Server 7.5 Update 7 Hotfix 2 (7.5.7-167)

Issue date: 2025-01-20

Applies to: Virtuozzo Hybrid Server 7.5

Virtuozzo Advisory ID: VZA-2025-002

1. Overview

The Hotfix 2 for Virtuozzo Hybrid Server 7.5 Update 7 provides fixes for the c2v-convert tool.

2. Bug Fixes

  • c2v-convert could fail if the container’s template does not match the distribution installed in the container due to actions like Ubuntu’s apt dist-upgrade or apt full-upgrade. (PSBM-159914)

  • After conversion from a system container, the resulting virtual machine’s disk size could be too large for source containers with balloons. (PSBM-159946)

  • Fixed an issue causing the c2v-convert tool to fail to set the original container’s memory configuration in the target virtual machine. (PSBM-159971)

  • Fixed an issue causing failure to modify, in some cases, the hardware settings of a virtual machine obtained from a c2v conversion. (PSBM-160217)

  • A virtual machine obtained after a c2v conversion inherited only one IP address instead of all the IPs of the source container with a routed network interface. (PSBM-160219)

3. Known Issues and Limitations

  • When running the c2v-convert utility on Virtuozzo Hybrid Server, macOS users may encounter the locale-related error message after connecting to Virtuozzo Hybrid Server using SSH:

warning: setlocale: LC_CTYPE: cannot change locale (UTF-8): No such file or directory

During conversion, it may cause other locale-related errors. To avoid this issue, add LANG=en_US.UTF-8 and LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 to the /etc/environment file on Virtuozzo Hybrid Server and log into it again.
